My Story

On December 31, 2013 I reached an all time low in my life. The number on the scale read something I never thought I would see.

My life had been a roller coaster the three years before this day and it took its toll on my body, both  mentally and physically. After being a very avid runner and competitive cross country runner in high school I was ashamed of my body. After a stress fracture, knee surgery, and gallbladder surgery I was no longer running and it showed.

I weighed 216 pounds.

What made me realize that I needed to change something, to do something was a family picture from  Christmas that year. So I decided to do something.  I was tired of clothes not fitting right, My knee was always swollen from carrying the extra weight, I was tired and sick.

My first step in my weight loss journey or as I like to call getting fit and healthy journey was to join the organization Weight Watchers. I did so because I had no idea where to start my journey. So I learned about weight loss and eating healthy and within in a few months, the weight started to come off.

Then my life started to change!

First, I started eating better, and exercising more. I had more energy and I was definitely happier!
on.

Before and After: One Year Later
So here I am a little over a year lighter and nearly 40 pounds happier and healthier. I still have a ways to go but my hope is to encourage others on their journey of achieving their health goals as I work towards mine.

I now weigh 177 pounds!

My goals for this next year are to continue to lose the excess pounds and also tone and tighten so that I can be the fittest and healthiest me that I have ever been!

To a Fitter and Healthier New Year!!!!
